Reinhart Gaugg was a Freedom Party Member of the Provincial Parliament of Carinthia and of the Austrian National Council. Among other things, he was Federal Chairman of the Freedom Party Workers organisation.

Short biography

Reinhart Gaugg was born on 17 July 1953 in Wolfsberg. After graduating from commercial school, he worked at a bank in Klagenfurt from 1970 to 1991, during which time he was always politically active as a member of the works council.

In 1984 he became provincial chairman of the Freedom Party Workers organisation in Carinthia and in 1989 entered the Carinthian provincial parliament for the Freedom Party. From 1985 to 1989 he was also a member of the Municipal Council of the provincial capital of Klagenfurt and from 1991 to 1997 Deputy Mayor of the Carinthian provincial capital.

He was also deputy FPÖ federal party chairman from 1990 to 1992 and from 1992 to 1994 executive chairman of the Carinthian FPÖ. In 1995 he also became federal chairman of the Freedom Party Workers.

Reinhart Gaugg became a member of the National Council in 1997 and remained there until 2002 after which he withdrew from politics.
