Social media, artificial intelligence and ChatGPT

The sixth module of the Young Academy focused on the opportunities and challenges of digital communication in everyday politics. The focus was on the strategic use of social media and the basics and fields of application of artificial intelligence. On the first day of the seminar, there was also a discussion with Freedom Party Member of Parliament Christoph Steiner, in which current political issues and communication strategies were examined.

On the second day of the seminar, Lisa Schuch-Gubik and Christian Schuch led a practice-oriented workshop with concrete tips and insights into the professional use of social media in the political environment. Practical examples were used to show how political messages can be effectively communicated on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram and which legal and communicative rules apply.

In addition, participants were given an introduction to AI-supported tools, in particular ChatGPT, and discussed their possible uses for text and speech creation.

The module provided a reflective understanding of the responsible use of digital technologies and their significance for modern political communication.
