Invitation to the event in Lower Austria

"Cash and the digital euro – where are we headed?"

On October 15, 2025, the event “Cash and the digital euro – where are we headed?” will take place in Neulengbach. It will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The focus will be on questions about the future of cash and the possible effects of introducing a digital euro on the economy, society, and consumer protection.

Participants in the discussion will include Member of Parliament Peter Wurm (FPÖ consumer protection spokesperson), Member of Parliament Dr. Barbara Kolm (former Vice President of the General Council of the Austrian National Bank), Josef Binder (initiator of the referendum “For unrestricted cash payments”) and Michael Sommer (representative of the Freedom Party's economic policy committee). Nikolaus Schmidt (FPÖ Neulengbach group leader) will give the welcome address, and Sabine Petzl will moderate the discussion in German language.
